Early childhood development and education
Early childhood development and education in emergencies

Emergencies disrupt children’s learning environments, affecting their emotional and social development, which in turn impacts their educational progress. Psychosocial support and integrated play-based social-emotional learning skills are vital for children to manage emotions, achieve goals, empathize with others, maintain positive relationships, and handle stress.
Early childhood period is critical for physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth. It sets the stage for future health, happiness, learning ability and success in life. Conversely, negative experiences like neglect, abuse, exposure to violence or other adverse experiences can hinder development, leading to severe mental and physical health issues later in life.
Our mission is to ensure that programmes and resources focusing on MHPSS in education and for children in their early years of development are informed by the latest research and practice-based learning, and most importantly, are accessible to those who need them the most.
