In response to the growing need for specialized support for young people in humanitarian contexts, the Humanitarian Leadership Academy and the MHPSS Collaborative have launched a comprehensive course on mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of adolescents in disaster-impacted settings.
Originally developed in collaboration with HIAS to support adolescents affected by the war in Ukraine, the course has now been adapted to address the unique challenges faced by young people and their caregivers in the aftermath of the 2023 earthquake in Türkiye and Syria.
A Comprehensive Learning Experience
Designed for practitioners working directly with adolescents aged 11-17, the course offers a deep dive into understanding and supporting youth mental health during critical times. Its six-module structure provides practitioners with:
- Comprehensive insights into adolescent development
- Strategies for psychosocial support
- Practical resources for working with young people and their caregivers in post-disaster settings

Recognizing the diverse needs of humanitarian workers, the course is available in three languages:
