Report: Lebanon’s urgent mental health crisis: How can Nordic actors contribute to response, recovery and systems strengthening?

In December Dr Rabih El Chammay, Head of Lebanon’s National Mental Health Programme, visited Copenhagen to meet with Nordic stakeholders to explore collaborative approaches to Lebanon’s escalating mental health crisis. The meetings were organized by the MHPSS Collaborative in collaboration with the IASC Reference Group for MHPSS in Emergency Settings on behalf of the Nordic Network for MHPSS in Fragile and Humanitarian Settings. This report highlights the catastrophic impact of recent conflicts in Lebanon, documents the key lessons to be learned from Lebanon’s situation and captures the recommendations for action proposed by Dr. El Chammay during the meeting.
